PLOOOOOOT
Frankenstein's plot is a combination of a series of letters and multiple frame stories, meaning that there are stories within the overall course of the novel. The audience begins in the middle of a journey in the Northern Sea documented by Walton a man seeking adventure when a haggard man approaches the ship on the ice and comes aboard. That man is Victor Frankenstein, the first frame story begins as he tells Walton of the events leading to his current state in the North. The audience learns that Victor is of wealthy backgrounds and as a child his curiosity for knowledge via scientific means. When Victor studies science he turns to his own means instead of the University of Ingoldstadt to seek the answer to creating and retaining life. He eventually discovers the answer (which is kept secret from Walton and the audience) and soon being creating a new species of being that he believes will be magnificent and beneficial to humanity.
Victor's Being is brought to life, and upon seeing the creation come to life he is disgusted with his actions and abandons The second frame story in the novel begins when The Being confronts Victor, convincing him to listen to his life on his own.The Being who now roams the wilderness slowly gaining knowledge from his instincts and observations of a family that lives in a secluded cottage.
